Stuffed sunflower bread I wanted to make a stuffed braided bread so badly after my braided brioche success. When i made my crispy vegetable buns, i had some leftover dough so used that to make this braided bread and it turned out yummy. This honey sunflower bread is hearty, nutty, and just slightly sweet.

Stuffed sunflower bread instructions

  1. Mix sugar in 1/2 cup lukewarm water,sprinkle the yeast.mix well.cover and leave for 15 minutes.
  2. Take the flour in a deep vessel.add the salt and mix. Add olive oil and mix..
  3. Now add the yeast and mix all with a wooden spoon..
  4. Invert on a plain surface.make a soft and pliable dough using more lukewarm water.
  5. Knead for 12 to 15 minutes.apply oil to the dough and a vessel on the inner side..
  6. Place the dough in the vessel.keep in a warm place to rise.should be double in size.leave for 1 hour or more.
  7. Meanwhile add all the ingredients to the chutney grinder alongwith the softened butter except the pasta herb mix and grind to a smooth soft paste.
  8. Now punch the dough.invert on a floured surface and.knead for 1 or 2 minutes.divide into 4 parts.roll each part into a ball.roll each ball into a chapatti..
  9. Take a baking tray.grease with butter.place a parchment on it. Now place one chapati.take 1/3 of the chutney and apply all over the chapatti.sprinkle little pasta herb much all over.
  10. Place another chapati and repeat the process. Do the same process for the next layer too..
  11. Keep a small cup inverted in the middle.make four perpendicular cuts with a pizza cutter.now further divide the cuts making 32 cuts overall. Remove the cup.sprinkle kalounji seeds in the middle..
  12. Now twist each wing twice or thrice.apply honey milk mixture overall. Cover and keep aside.preheat oven to 200°. Now uncover and bake for 15 minutes at 200°..
  13. Remove serve hot with tea,coffee or hot soup..
