One Pan Chicken + Cream Sauce.
Creamy Chicken Mushroom Pasta combines garlic, onions, mushrooms and chicken in an easy perfectly seasoned cream sauce that comes together in a matter of minutes.
You can serve over pasta or rice.
Ingredients of Chicken and Mushroom Pasta
- It's of main dish.
- It's 5 of chicken pieces ( I used frozen cooked pieces).
- Prepare 4 of whole mushrooms (more if your prefer) chopped roughly.
- You need 1/4 of chopped onion.
- Prepare 1 pinch of salt and ground pepper.
- It's 1 tsp of garlic powder.
- Prepare 1 of A handful of penne pasta or any pasta of your choice.
- Prepare 2 of sachets of Bachelors chicken flavour slim a soup.
- You need of topping (optional).
- You need 1 of grated cheese.
Chicken and Mushroom Pasta step by step
- Boil the water for the pasta, make sure there is a reasonable amount of water in the pot.
- Add the pasta and leave to cook.
- While the pasta is cooking, cut your mushrooms and onion and leave to one side.
- Once the pan is heated, add your chicken pieces and season with salt and pepper leave to cook for about 8 mins (or as long as it takes for the chicken to brown).
- Add the mushrooms and onions, encorporating the chicken that should be nearly fully cooked.
- Add the garlic and leave to cook. The mushrooms and onions should be brown and the chicken should break in strips.
- The pasta should be cooked at this point, so the sachets of soup can be added to the water one after the other..
- Add the cooked chicken, mushrooms and onions to the the soup and pasta, stiring continuously untill lumps are gone and everything is covered.
- Leave on a low heat for the soup to thicken and turn into a sauce, dont forget to stir so nothing sticks to the pot.
- Dish up and add cheese if you desire.
I did season the chicken before sauteing -- and I substituted portobella mushroom slices for the shitake. Next time I will use more mushrooms and more sauce. Add cooked pasta, chicken, cherry tomatoes, basil and oregano to mushroom mixture and toss to coat. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and freshly ground pepper. Tender chicken breast with sauteed mushrooms in a creamy sun-dried tomato sauce and rigatoni pasta.
